Zenjungle & Valiska – Years from Now

A gentle meditation on the mundane, everyday struggles, the things that give us hope, and how they become our past.

Phil Gardelis (Zenjungle, Athens, Greece) and Krzysztof Sujata (Valiska, Calgary, Canada) first collaborated in 2014 on their release A Changing Light and since then have often talked about working together again.

The seeds were finally sown in Summer 2019 during a brief Twitter exchange between the duo and longtime friend of both, Angel Simitchiev (Mytrip). The eight tracks were completed over the spring and summer of 2020 in the difficult days around the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The album finished as it began, with Angel guesting on the penultimate track Angel Layers.

From its conception, Years from Now came about through connections and community. The result is a gentle meditation on how we are all connected, and how no matter what is happening in the wider world, we can try to make things worthwhile

“I felt more uncertain about the future than ever. On the other hand  we‘ll do whatever to make our days a bit brighter”
– Zenjungle
